Praise and worship is the spontaneous response of a grateful child of God in His presence. The Christian who knows God and experiences Him deeply and intimately sings unto the Lord with deep awe in praise and worship. Trying to stop the praise from a thankful heart would be like trying to arrest the fall of a mighty waterfall. We were all created to praise and worship Him and such will be our activity in heaven for all eternity.
We as His children should not have any difficulty of thinking of reasons why God deserves the best worship and praise we could muster. We ,of all Christians should enjoy the times we have to praise our Lord, both privately and publicly. If your life is not filled with praise and worship , it may be that you have lost your appreciation for God's merciful activity in your life. Never forget what God has saved you from. Never take for granted what it means to have the assurance of eternity with God. Take time to often recount the blessings He has poured out upon you. As you contemplate on God's abounding love and mercy, you will definitely want to worship him. Spontaneity is authentic praise. It does not have to be orchestrated or manipulated. It is a real and personal expression of a grateful heart that has encountered a Holy God. Though all believers are expected to have lives of praise and worship, we in the music ministry, aside from the pastor should have such a level of praise in our lives. We should always strive to live lives that are holy and righteous before our God's eyes. This is so because we should remember that we are a front-line ministry. So aside from the pastors, the congregation's eyes are upon us. Of course we are not to be men - pleasers , however in striving to live righteously, won't our great God be pleased with our worship?
Our times of leading the congregation into God's presence should only be an overflow of our own private worship hence, let us desire to be worshipers privately first. Only then can we expect to really bring our brethren into His throne room of grace.
