As in a courtyard or a hall where servants abound to welcome guests in a party or a celebration, the greeters and ushers of this ministry function in that same light for truly, during the church service, there is a worship celebration taking place; a celebration of God's presence in our midst!
The ministry exists with the purpose of facilitating warm and orderly atmosphere in the sanctuary making it more conducive for worship, meditation and fellowship. The ushers and greeters works by extending warm greetings to each individual entering the sanctuary, believers and unbelievers alike and ushering them into their seats.
Last year, 2005, there were 54 members in the ministry. Thirty-five ( 35 ) of which were regular attendees during our monthly meetings. This year 2006, there are 48 old members and 8 who has newly joined. In general, each of these members are in active duty, performing their duties with zeal and commitment. Members are categorized into four groups: Infancy (Bethlehem), Preparation (Nazareth), Popularity (Capernaum), and Passion (Jerusalem). These categories were coined to describe how young and how actively involved the member is in the ministry. |
